Nowadays, one does not simply “post” on Instagram: one curates. That’s what makes our guest editor, “What I’m Holding” all the more interesting: simply photos of what its mysterious editor is loving right now, all shot from above in the palm of his hand. The result is visually hypnotic and refreshingly accessible feed. He shared with us who he’s following and why—and considering they’re viewed on a phone, they’re technically things you’re holding, too. #META
It’s really a simple concept: “I love to hold things, and love to share the things I hold.” It’s always been as straightforward as that: telling stories about where I’m going and what I’m loving through something I can hold in my hand, like rocks skipped in a lake, burgers and fries, even a sweaty gym towel. Our posts evoke the range of emotions and different situations that our generation navigates every day. Some are flirtatious, reflective, playful. Others are about friends and family or highlight daily life.
I follow people who share my love for unique character and posting bright, visually-stimulating photos, no matter what their “specialty” is. Here’s who I’m looking at right now.
