Social City Guide: Ski Utah x The Gramlist

Andy’s recently taken the helm of the communications team for Armada skis, located right near Park City Mountain Resort (where he used to be the communications director). Energy, Humor and the outdoors may as well be his mantra, and he takes beautiful photos of the local spots he loves.

She is the quintessential outdoor enthusiast. In between working days running @visitparkcity social media and nights at @zoomparkcity, she’s a great example of how Utah’s locals have mastered the work-life balance thing.

Like so many of Utah’s locals, Jared is a man of many talents, and it’s hard to tell which is his favorite. If the snow is falling, he can be found up at Brighton Resort, where is he the marketing director. If not, you can follow his fly-fishing adventures on @brightonanglers

Zane is the executive chef for the @steinlodge, one of the world’s best ski hotels. He has a love for seasonal, super-fresh ingredients and he often hand-picks them himself at local markets (which he loves posting photos of). He’s usually in the kitchen doing what he loves, but you can catch him biking the endless road miles in Park City.

Drew has a uniquely youthful view on the state: he’s student at the @UniversityofUtah, spends his winters skiing for @Altaskiarea and his summers interning at @powdermagazine.

Fuzzy seems to do a little bit of everything, which gives him insight into what makes the town of Eden tick: he’s a pro-bmx rider and handles marketing for Powder Mountain.

By the time you wake up on a powder day, I guarantee Matt has already taken his first turn. As Ski Utah’s powder hound blogger he is constantly searching for the deepest snow. And if that isn’t enough, he is part owner of the best sushi spot in Park City, @yukiyamapc.

The man doesn’t stop. While most know him as a professional freeskier, few realize he has his own clothing company @discrete and started a trail running series during the summer, Discrete Peak Series.

Lee Cohen is hands down the godfather of the powder shot — enough said. He has more magazine covers than one can count and his favorite spot to shoot them is in the Wasatch Mountains.

Ryan is the content and social media manger for both @deervalleyresort and @skisolitde. Not a bad life being in charge of documenting two world-class resorts. It also makes him an expert on the newest and exciting places to eat, drink and explore.

Ed, based in Park City, UT, is the founder of one of the most exciting snow apps on the market, Snocru (download it here)—it’s a data tracker that’s sort of like Strava for the mountain set. To ensure his product is working at all time, he’s hiking and pursuing fresh turns daily.

Believe it or not, Taylor, an avid snowboarder, is still just a local high school student—thanks to his color-soaked photography of the mountains (he has a definite thing for capturing beautiful sunset and nightsky shots), he’s made waves this past year and is definitely one to watch.

Evan Thayer is Utah’s most respected powder forecaster, and his feed functions almost as a real-time conditions update for wherever he happens to be (naturally, he’s a skier himself).
