Last night officially marked the apex of party season, and we’re betting no one did New Year’s in proper form quite like our friends at Guest of a Guest, the digital destination for coverage of all things society: people, places, parties. Since the site’s launch eight years ago, it’s become a pretty comprehensive database of party pics—the visual, searchable Page Six, if you will—and the team makes it their business to be seemingly everywhere, even far-flung places like a recent bacchanal in Gstaad. But it can’t be champagne showers 24/7 (right?), so we asked the New York-based crew which feeds they browse between fêtes.
Happy hangovers!
Guest of a Guest is the name—all things scene is the game. We’re dedicated to chronicling lives of the brilliant, beautiful and influential in New York, where we started, and beyond. Much as we love a party, we have downtime, too. These are the feeds we look at when we’re enjoying a little down time.
When our stomach’s calling the shots…
It seems like a new restaurant pops up in New York every single day, and before food critics can serve up official reviews, photos tell the story. Enter Alexa, who, funny enough, is a former GofG contributor! She came into her Instafame writing her column for us covering the brunch circuit (yep, that’s a thing), and as you’ll see from her painfully delicious feed, girl knows her restaurants.
Who isn’t addicted to sweets? While we definitely think Flour Shop is cute, the name Sugar Rainbow would definitely be more apt. Amira Kassem, the founder and force behind the bakery, is as sweet as her confections.
When we’re feeling floral-y…
There is forever a beautiful soft spot in our hearts for Putnam & Putnam, the local group of creative artists whose medium happens to be flowers. Honestly, the things these boys do with blooms—they turned our relaunch event into an absolute vision! And they’re humorous, charming and total pros to boot.
“We love a second chapter story, especially when someone pulls a total 180°. Case in point? Street style super star turned floralista extraordinaire Taylor Tomasi Hill. She makes the best little blooms around, proving that bouquets don’t need to be huge to make an impact. ”
When we’re on the scene…
What can we say? We’re suckers for an event photo, even when we’re no where near a party, and Billy Farrell is the original shutterbug.
When wanderlust gets the best of us…
It’s absurdly easy to get lost in envy playing ‘Where in the World is Sofia Sanchez de Betak this week?’ She’s an art director, so her pictures always have that enviably composed “wish I were there” vibe.
When wanderlust gets the best of us…
Doesn’t look too bad, right? Stephanie Steinman, a traveler herself, does a top-notch job of regramming travel pics from jetsetters all around the world.
