Further underscoring our point, last Thursday Instagram rolled out upgraded shopping features in advance of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. With the new update, Instagrammers can save shopable items to a new bookmarked collection for later browsing, or to prep for Cyber Monday. Meaning you can assemble your holiday shopping list just like you would your #inspirationalquotes collection. All you have to do is this:
- Click the shopping icon in the bottom left corner on a participating retailer’s account.
- Click the arrow on the corresponding product of your choice. (It’s on the right-hand side.)
- Click the bookmark bar on the right to save to your shopping collection.
For instance, let’s say you wanted to price-shop scarves, that quintessential “we’re-not-friends-but-I-have-to-formally-acknowledge-you” gift of choice. Here’s what your cart might look like if you too shopped from bed using just your opposable thumbs and some five minutes of sustained attention.
