Which celebs make an appearance at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival? While it may be too soon to call (TIFF officially starts today), based on ample speculation (read: pouring over every single participating film), we’ve narrowed it down to these 26 standouts, listed alphabetically from A-Z.

This is out tomorrow on newsstands. It’s rare for an interview and photoshoot to really show you yourself, but the insightful and relentless @carvell_wallace did this by opening the interview with “What is your purpose here on this earth”, and with his camera @sharifhamza made good on our goal of transcending the binary way that brown men are often portrayed in our culture (either aggressive or passive) to communicate both the strength & vulnerability of our shared experience growing up as British Muslims. Thanks @nytmag for what felt more like an experience of self reflection than ‘promo’. I am so damn proud to announce that a film I shot last year will be making its world premier at the Toronto International Film Festival aka TIFF. American Woman was directed by the incredible Jake Scott and written by the fearless and tragic writer (Out of the Furnace) Brad Ingelsby. This film takes you on a journey that follows a complicated woman dealing with the disappearance of her young daughter and coming to terms with the possibility of never seeing her again. It’s about family, love and loss and it’s absolutely beautiful. Sienna Miller brings such a heartbreaking and honest performance to this character and to watch it play out in person was an absolute gift. Independent film making is where my heart is. Just raw and honest story telling. Thank you Jake for taking me on this ride with you! You absolutely crushed it. Thank you Brad for this story! I will read every single damn thing that you write. Thank you TIFF for this honor. I love you and all of Canada. See you soon! #TIFF

Ever since I can remember, I've referred to everything in life in either orchestration or gustatory terms…As a flavor, for instance, lemon blows everything else away; the equivalent in the symphony orchestra is the piccolo (the book "Jamming" by John Kao of San Francisco explains this concept better than I ever could). And when I was in the studio with my brother Bruce Swedien, I'd always tell him to "Put a little more tabasco on that ending!" or "Sprinkle some salt on that bridge!" The funny thing is, Bruce didn't even have to clarify!…he knew EXACTLY what to do when he heard those words. (^o^)/ Absolutely nothing better than cookin' up some orchestrations! Food & music always go hand in hand because it’s all about mixing flavors. As the great Ben Webster used to tell me…“eat the food, listen to the music, & learn 30 to 40 words in every language”…The code to culture! 📸: @surgos
