In the most recent episode of the podcast The Observatory, the hosts—two modern design greats—asked what the point of Pantone’s color of the year announcement is anyway. 2017’s is called Greenery, and it’s probably a huge marketing ploy, but hey, we like what we like! And that, judging by popularity, is the color-themed Instagram feed, a (usually) marketing-free haven that requires little cognitive processing.
