Senior Director; Marketing (NYC)

Position: Senior Director; Marketing | Location: New York, NY | Start Date: Immediate

The Gramlist is looking for an experienced, collaborative and enterprising Head of Marketing with 5-10 years of experience to join our growing NYC team. This marketing innovator should know how to drive culture rather than respond to it. This individual will craft and execute a cohesive go-to-market strategy across our agency, software and editorial channels, implementing both short- and long-term strategies that elevate our brand profile in market, while bringing big ideas to life. This individual will be charged with crafting strong in-market materials, as well as overseeing audience growth across our owned and operated editorial channels (website, Instagram, newsletter).  This marketing role is ideal for someone who has evolved a lean company to greatness and loves seeing their vision come to life.

Your Key Areas of Focus:

  • New Business: With a focus on acquiring new business and retention, your role will be focused on effectively communicating our offerings in market to drive growth. You will oversee the rollout of all new marketing materials and ensure that they are best in class.
  • Editorial & Content: Content is king at The Gramlist. Oversee a content framework and strategy for our editorial channels that leverages our brand positioning. Build a robust and cohesive strategy for our lauded newsletter, website, and social media to drive audience engagement, awareness and new business.
  • Partnerships & Syndication: You will build strategic partnerships with relevant publishing platforms and brands to expose our brand to new audiences.
  • Data & Reporting: You will evaluate our output for all marketing channels, establishing key KPIs evaluating results with clear success metrics.
  • RFP Response: You will be responsible for RFP response at a major revenue level, ideating big picture programs that move the needle for our clients and make a quantifiable impact.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Mapping out and executing a marketing strategy and overseeing its implementation. From building a project calendar to overseeing others, you are the glue that holds it all together for all things marketing.
  • Work closely and collaborate with other Gramlist team members across project management, operations, and content.
  • Oversee tactical implementation of content across Instagram, newsletter and site.
  • Work closely with the CEO to understand the pipeline of projects, defining a strategy for each one.
  • Drive cohesive campaigns in market that celebrate & communicate our successes across our software, brand case studies and other key wins.
  • Ensure our brand voice is cohesive and represented across all in-market materials.
  • Broker deals with publishers and brands to amplify our content strategy and drive growth around our editorial initiatives.

Your best qualities:

  • You are experienced. This isn’t your first rodeo. 5-10 years experience in a marketing role, preferably in a startup, brand, media, or agency environment.
  • You are psyched on startups. You’ve been making lemonade out of lemons since the ‘90s. You quickly adapt to change and brings strategic solutions to the table constantly knowing how to spot low hanging fruit and great opportunities. Proactive, results-driven team player. You thrive on collaboration, but can work independently as well.
  • You are connected. Strong relationships with strategic partners in the agency, brand and publishing world to help expand our reach.  
  • You are dynamic. Experience and ability marketing, packaging and selling an integrated suite of offerings across services, software, and editorial.  Being able to sit between & oversee our different business verticals (agency, software, & editorial) from a marketing perspective will be key.
  • You are a storyteller. You’re not only an excellent written, visual and verbal communicator across all mediums, but you know how to tell engaging stories about what we do, and how we do it.
  • You are skilled: Proficient in a sales CRM like SalesForce or PipeDrive, G Suite, Keynote, and a frequent user of a variety of social platforms.
