Chief Content Officer (NYC)

The role:

The Chief Content Officer (CCO) will lead a clear vision and strategy as The Gramlist continues to evolve its unique suite of data-driven content verticals. This individual will be integral in creating a multi-pronged content strategy that moves the needle for The Gramlist brand and further cements us as the destination for next-generation thought leaders in digital media.

A successful candidate has the requisite experience in evolving digital mediums and social channels while embodying the desire to push the boundaries of the written (and visual) word. This role is made for a disruptive thinker with the burning desire to become a leading publisher and authority in the social marketing/advertising sector.

This role requires a take-charge, problem solver to leverage our vast social data with a hands-on focus and continuously present leadership.

The Gramlist is a four year old full-service, influencer marketing platform and agency that connects the world’s best brands with their ideal consumers by sparking authentic conversations within the social media ecosystem. Using proprietary software, we have a proven track record in executing data-backed micro-influencer campaigns that garner measurable results. We work with businesses ranging in size from pre-seed startups to Fortune 500 companies across all verticals. Our manifesto is anchored in authenticity, discovery, and amplification.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Define, evolve + verticalize content strategy for both b2b and b2c channels.
  • Execute content strategy and distribution to deliver on results that cultivate social media audiences, communities and increase site conversions (traffic, sign-ups, lead generation).
  • Continuously evolve standards, systems and best practices for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval and content re-purposing, including real-time implementation.
  • Cultivate partnerships with brands and publishers.
  • Create a robust content production schedule and editorial calendar direct email newsletters with engaging newsworthy content.
  • Identify hot topics in advertising, marketing and social media to develop content franchises and expand distribution channels.
  • Manage creation and execution of webinars, podcasts, & IGTV.
  • Build out and evolve a stable of creators, including but not limited to writers, graphic designers, illustrators, videographers/animators, photographers, etc.
  • Be the keeper of our brand voice + aesthetic, ensuring all content/messaging is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone.
  • Gather key data-driven insights and surface analytics to create reports + make recommendations to gauge content effectiveness.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or related communications field
  • 7-12 years of experience as a progressive leader in multi-channel content creation (publishing, journalism, brands etc.).
  • Proven track record as a disrupter in the media industry.
  • Editorial experience is a must.
  • Must have experience managing content creation process including video, podcasts, written content, etc.
  • Highly articulate and organized.
  • Experience with creating compelling messages for different target demographics.
  • Experience in digital marketing and the world of influence is a plus.
  • Creative minded with an ability to conceive interesting ideas for new content.
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms and emerging trends. 
  • The ability to create, lead, and inspire growing teams of creative personnel and content creators to achieve company’s vision.
